Storytelling session

Anderson Family | A Family Storytelling Session in Richmond, VA

You guys. This mama and this family. They were a dream to work with.

If you don’t already know of Miranda, you should. She is one of those people who does a million things really, amazingly well. She’s an author. A speaker. A blogger. A podcast host. A seamstress. A workshop/retreat/creative coach. She keeps chickens, runs online courses, renovated their adorable home, and is just an all around, lovely human being. Go follow her! She’s running an Indigo & Shibori Worskshop right now that looks so beautiful & fun.

Last October, I was lucky enough to spend a Friday evening capturing her and her family in their natural rhythms. It was a gorgeous evening of bike rides, Stellas Grocery for ice cream, sidewalk chalk, Friday night pizza (on the grill!), backyard hangs, then cookies & dance parties before bed. I told you- a total dream.

For me, this is what storytelling photography is all about. It’s about capturing the different relationships, spaces, and moments that make up your family story. It’s having photos that reflect reality of your life right now so you never forget the quirks, the personalities, the rhythms and silliness that makes your family who they are. It’s about having visual proof of the feeling and memory shared.

I hope they look back on these pictures for years and remember what Friday nights were like as a family in this season.

If you’re interested in booking a Storytelling Session for your family or would like to learn more about them, please get in touch! I’d love to meet you and chat about what you have in mind.
