Newborn sessions take place within the first weeks or months of your baby’s life & capture those raw early moments when everything is fresh & new.

Those first days are tender, as you're riding the emotional highs and lows, and getting to know this new tiny person. I want to capture the fresh, wrinkly skin; the finger holds; the tears; the magic of falling in love with your child for the first time. It is such an amazing time of change and love in your life and family, but can seem like a total blur later.

Letting the baby guide the way, our session will be relaxed and joyful. It really is time to slow down and capture the beautiful connection between you and your babe. As a mother to four children myself, I know how special that connection really is.

Scheduling is flexible on these because we of course can’t predict when baby will arrive, or how you will feel after delivery. We will be in touch and I will do my best to work around your needs.

SO What’s next?

1. Fill in the contact form at the bottom and I will reply with a quick questionnaire for you to complete. If all looks good, then we begin the fun of planning a beautiful session for you and your family. I’ll also send along a contract and invoice (including $150 deposit) to reserve your spot.

1. After booking, I will send you a guide to help you visualize and plan for our time together. I am always available for thoughts or questions along the way.

2. We meet for our session. It’s an easy, relaxed time filled with fun! In fact, I often have people tell me they are surprised by how painless and joyful it is!

3. Within three weeks after the photo shoot, you will receive a link to your web gallery to look through the photos and select any prints or products you’d like!

FAQ

• Where will the session take place?

  My first choice is to shoot in your home + yard, because that’s where the magic of your everyday life happens. But if you’d rather, we can explore some local outdoor spots that will be easy and beautiful.

• What if my home isn’t pretty (or big, finished, magazine-worthy, etc.) enough?

  Totally, totally fine! I hear this often and I think we’ve all tricked ourselves into thinking our homes need to be perfect. Your home is the place where your memories are made and I feel VERY confident we will make beautiful images there. I will walk you through all you need to make your home ready (spoiler: it’s just window light and a quick tidy). Plus, I LOVE homes with personality and a bit of mess.

• What if my kids are a bit wild?

  That’s okay! This is part of why I think story-telling is so important in images. If we force kids to sit still and “smile at the camera,” that feels very unnatural to them (probably to you too!) Instead, there will be lots of movement and play. I have four kids and am completely at ease in the joy and chaos they bring.

• Do you take any posed portraits?

  I do. While I much prefer completely candid images, I know that many folks want a few photos of everyone looking & smiling at the camera, and I’m glad to provide those. But if you’re hoping for more traditional photos, or even staged lifestyle photos, I’m probably not the best fit for you.

• Do you offer payment plans?

  Yes! I know photography is expensive. But I truly think it’s worth it! I’m willing to work with you on a timeline and payment plan that suits us both.

• When will I get my photos back?

  You’ll receive a link to your online gallery within 2-3 weeks of your session date.
