My approach
My family sessions are a relaxed, fun, informal way to capture your family in your environment. I like to shoot in your home, yard, or a place that you often frequent together. I have plenty of suggestions for activities to do during your session to bring out the best connection and beautiful imagery. If you have young children, don't worry! I have young children myself, and am no stranger to the unexpected joy (and chaos) they bring. If your house isn't perfect, don't worry! Mine's not either. I truly believe that the beauty is in the details and the emotion found in relationships. This includes tears, kisses, laughter.... all of it. This is the true story of life, and it is far more beautiful than any perfect house or perfect pose could ever capture.
I work hard to photograph the real relationships and connection between you and your children. These are the pictures that are most difficult to take yourself, and the ones that will be treasures for your children and their children to look back on. We are going to capture those ordinary, everyday, wonderful moments and make them into heirloom photographs for your family to enjoy for years.

A more compact storytelling session perfect for families looking to document a specific time of day, activity, or outing.
I can come to your home, or we can explore an outdoor spot around town. It will be easy and relaxed, and I will help guide you every step of the way.

The Micro Story | 30 min | $350
This short and sweet session is meant to document a “scene” or activity. Maybe it’s your crew playing in the backyard, maybe it’s bathtime, or bedtime, or sidewalk chalk, or dancing in the kitchen. Maybe you invite me to take photos at the pool or the river, or in your garden.
Includes 30 minutes shooting time, 20 edited images
The full Story | 3hrs | $1150
This is a documentary style session, meant to capture your family and your life as it is right now.
We will loosely plan activities based around your normal, everyday… and I will just tag along and document it all! These sessions are my absolute favorite because they are meant to remind you how beautiful your real, normal life is.
Your children will be looking at these photos with their children- remembering their childhood through them. We are going to capture those ordinary, everyday, unique moments and make them into heirloom photographs for your family to enjoy for years.
I know you worry something like this may feel awkward or unconventional in a way you’re not sure about. But I can promise you, they will be pure magic.
Includes 3 hrs shooting time, 100+ images, & keepsake album

Fill in the contact form at the bottom and I will reply with a quick questionnaire for you to complete. If all looks good, then we begin the fun of planning a beautiful session for you and your family. I’ll also send along a contract and invoice (including $150 deposit) to reserve your spot.
After booking, I will send you a guide to help you visualize and plan for our time together. I am always available for thoughts or questions along the way.
We meet for our session. It’s an easy, relaxed time filled with fun! In fact, I often have people tell me they are surprised by how painless and joyful it is!
Within three weeks after the photo shoot, you will receive a link to your web gallery to look through the photos and select any prints or products you’d like!

FAQ
Where will the session take place?
My first choice is to shoot in your home + yard, because that’s where the magic of your everyday life happens. But if you’d rather, we can explore some local outdoor spots that will be easy and beautiful.
What if my home isn’t pretty (or big, finished, magazine-worthy, etc.) enough?
Totally, totally fine! I hear this often and I think we’ve all tricked ourselves into thinking our homes need to be perfect. Your home is the place where your memories are made and I feel VERY confident we will make beautiful images there. I will walk you through all you need to make your home ready (spoiler: it’s just window light and a quick tidy). Plus, I LOVE homes with personality and a bit of mess.
What if my kids are a bit wild?
That’s okay! This is part of why I think story-telling is so important in images. If we force kids to sit still and “smile at the camera,” that feels very unnatural to them (probably to you too!) Instead, there will be lots of movement and play. I have four kids and am completely at ease in the joy and chaos they bring.
Do you take any posed portraits?
I do. While I much prefer completely candid images, I know that many folks want a few photos of everyone looking & smiling at the camera, and I’m glad to provide those. But if you’re hoping for more traditional photos, or even staged lifestyle photos, I’m probably not the best fit for you.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! I know photography is expensive. But I truly think it’s worth it! I’m willing to work with you on a timeline and payment plan that suits us both.
When will I get my photos back?
You’ll receive a link to your online gallery within 2-3 weeks of your session date.
