It is not lost on me; the irony of posting about in-home photo sessions when we are all stuck in our homes at the moment. We are surely tired of it, I know I am. But right now- sick of it or not- it is a privilege to be home with our people… a privilege that many do not have. I do not take it for granted, and I believe more than ever in the importance of documenting our families and our lives at home. We struggle, we cry, we fight, we laugh, we play games, we sleep, we pray, we wait, we live life in our homes.
And this home, that you’re about to see, is filled with so much life and art and beauty. These photos were taken last fall, on a grey morning in October…
Pancakes and coffee. Legos and doll houses. A neighborhood walk. Pumpkin carving.
Scooters. Jumps on the trampoline. Reading. Laughing. Singing.
This was my morning with the Langan family. They welcomed me into their home with ease and comfort and kindness. The kids showed me their rooms, each so personal and filled with their favorite things. We sat around the breakfast table with good music and good coffee. We walked around the neighborhood and played in the backyard and talked a lot. It was delightful and easy and one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever had the honor of shooting. This is the story of a Langan Saturday morning.
