Freshly painted nails. Baby sister bath time. Jumping on beds. Picking flowers. Princess dresses. Snuggles with Mama. This was my morning with the gals of the Davis household.
Julie (mama) let me know that she was interested in doing a Motherhood Session, and later said, "The motherhood session intrigued me because 1) I rarely get the chance to be in photos with my kids (aside from selfies—but those don’t count!), and 2) This is such a polarized period of life for me. With 3 kids under 4, at the end of the day I can all too vividly recall the ugly moments that we had, but struggle to remember the sweet moments. I wanted to have a visual reminder of what’s good about the day-to-day of motherhood."
As a mom of young kids myself, I know only too well what she's referring to. It is hard to hold onto those sweet moments in the midst of the bickering, dishes, diapers, clean-ups, and melt-downs.
And yet, this morning I spent with them was so FULL of sweetness and beauty and laughter. Those girls have sparkling eyes and love their mama with their whole entire selves. It was a joy to get a small peek inside their daily life together, and honestly just so much fun to get to hang with them.
I hope that they will treasure these images for years to come.
